The Senate has constituted a 12-member committee to interface with the House of Representatives on the Electoral Amendment Act amid growing controversy surrounding the proposed changes.
The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, announced the composition of the committee on Tuesday during an emergency plenary session.
Among those named to the panel are Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and Senator Tahir Mungono.
The committee is expected to engage with its counterpart in the House to harmonise positions on the amendment bill, which has sparked public debate and political reactions across the country.
