Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adejare Adeboye, on his 84th birthday.
He described him as a revered global preacher and a true ambassador of God.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, the governor commended Adeboye’s decades of unblemished service in God’s kingdom, noting that his leadership has made him a role model for religious leaders and Christians across the world.
Sanwo-Olu described the cleric, who turned 84 on Monday, as an epitome of honesty, dedication, and selfless service.
He highlighted Adeboye’s tenure as the second National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, saying it helped raise millions of committed followers within the RCCG and beyond.
“Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye is a true ambassador of God. He has been a blessing not just to the Redeemed Christian Church of God but also to us in Lagos State and the country,” the governor said.
According to him, Adeboye’s consistent prayers and wise counsel over the years have contributed significantly to the steady progress witnessed in Lagos State.
He added that the respected evangelist, fondly called ‘Daddy GO,’ has played a major role in propagating the gospel both nationally and internationally without blemish or scandal.
Sanwo-Olu prayed for more grace and strength for the cleric to continue spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and positively impacting lives.
“As Pastor E.A. Adeboye celebrates his 84th birthday, I pray that the Almighty God will grant him more grace and strength to continue to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and impact many lives positively,” he said.
