The Presidency has dismissed reports alleging that kitchen staff at the Presidential Villa plotted to poison President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the claims as false and misleading.
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, debunked the report in a post on his official X account on Sunday, insisting that no such incident occurred at the Presidential Villa.
He wrote, “No Aso Rock kitchen staff arrested. No Aso Rock kitchen staff attempted to poison President Tinubu. Please ignore this fake news being disseminated by this video.”
The viral video had claimed that a presidential chef was arrested following intelligence reports suggesting suspicious activities related to food preparation within restricted areas of the Villa.
However, the Presidency maintained that the report was entirely fabricated and urged the public to disregard the circulating claims.
Authorities have yet to disclose the source of the video or the motives behind the spread of the false information.
