The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three male suspects in connection with the brutal murder of Faith, a 27-year-old woman, in Ondo Town, Ondo East Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as Olayode (27), Temitope (32) and Bolaji (22), were apprehended following a report made at the Fagun Police Division on February 5, 2026, according to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh.
Jimoh said operatives swiftly responded to the distress call and arrived at the crime scene located at Fagun Estate Road 5, Ondo Town, where they found the victim lying lifeless.
The deceased was immediately evacuated and deposited at the State Specialist Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Preliminary findings revealed that the suspects allegedly forced their way into the compound of a resident identified as Helen, where they attacked Faith with machetes, inflicting fatal injuries that led to her death.
The police spokesperson confirmed that the three suspects are currently in custody and have made useful statements to assist ongoing investigations.
He added that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State has appealed to residents to remain calm and go about their lawful activities without fear, assuring them that adequate security measures have been put in place across the state to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
The police command also urged members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information to security agencies to help curb crime and protect lives and property in the state.
