Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde are currently meeting with Senator Seriake Dickson in Bauchi.
Although the reason for the meeting was not immediately ascertained, sources say it may not be unconnected to preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mohammed and Makinde, who are the only remaining governors in the Peoples Democratic Party, are reportedly planning their resignation from the party.
Their decisions, according to reports were being hinged on the protracted leadership crisis rocking the main opposition party.
Recently, Senator Seriake Dickson, the lawmaker representing the Bayelsa West Senatorial District, launched a new political party, Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
