The Nigeria Police Force has assured Nigerians that the country\u2019s internal security remains stable despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The assurance was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Benjamin Hundeyin, on behalf of the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, the police leadership reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property amid global tensions that could have wider security implications.<\/p>\n

The police noted that although Nigeria remains peaceful, proactive and intelligence-driven policing strategies have been strengthened nationwide to prevent any security threats.<\/p>\n

Commissioners of Police across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory have been directed to intensify surveillance and intelligence gathering, especially in the North-West, North-East and North-Central regions.<\/p>\n

The police also instructed commands to improve collaboration with traditional and religious leaders, increase patrols around worship centres and public places, and respond swiftly to any attempt to exploit global developments to cause unrest.<\/p>\n

The Force warned that Nigeria would not be allowed to become a ground for foreign conflicts, stressing that any attempt to import ideological or religious tensions into the country would be dealt with according to the law.<\/p>\n

The Acting Inspector-General of Police urged community leaders to continue promoting peaceful coexistence and advised citizens to remain calm and vigilant while reporting suspicious activities to security agencies.<\/p>\n
