Professor Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has praised the stabilisation of the naira against the dollar, describing it as a major achievement of President Bola Tinubu\u2019s administration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She made the remarks while speaking with journalists at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Obasanjo said exchange rate stability is essential for business planning, noting that predictable currency values help businesses manage imports, exports, and overall operations more effectively.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

According to her, the relative stability of the naira allows companies to forecast costs and revenues more accurately and reduces uncertainty caused by currency fluctuations.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

She also commended the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project, saying it would help reduce congestion along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway corridor in Ogun State and improve trade connections between Lagos and eastern parts of the country.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Obasanjo added that improved economic coordination, stronger international engagement, and enhanced security cooperation are helping to create a more stable environment for economic growth.<\/p>\n

The former senator for Ogun Central, who recently declared her intention to contest the 2027 Ogun State governorship election, said she is well positioned to become Nigeria\u2019s first elected female governor.<\/p>\n

She noted that Ogun State\u2019s high literacy level and history of female leadership indicate readiness for inclusive governance.<\/p>\n

Obasanjo also observed that Ogun West has yet to produce a governor since the creation of the state in 1976, adding that without political consensus among the senatorial districts, it may remain difficult for the zone to produce a governor in the near future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
