The immediate past Kayode Egbetokun has urged the newly appointed Acting Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, to sustain ongoing reforms and strengthen the security framework established during his tenure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Abuja shortly after Disu assumed office, Egbetokun noted that his successor was deeply familiar with the system, having served as his Personal Staff Officer, Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and the FCT, and later as Assistant Inspector General in charge of the Special Bureau.<\/p>\n

He commended Disu\u2019s role in enforcing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu\u2019s directive withdrawing police from VIP protection, saying the new IGP ensured full compliance.<\/p>\n

Egbetokun urged Disu to continue restructuring intelligence coordination, dismantling criminal networks, and improving interagency deployment models.<\/p>\n

Disu described the appointment as \u201cemotional and unexpected,\u201d thanking the President for the trust and pledging to deliver peace, recognition, and stability nationwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
