The family of a Lagos-based man, Osas Azenabor, has raised concerns over the continued silence of the Lagos State Police Command regarding his whereabouts, 15 months after he was allegedly arrested during a police raid.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Osas\u2019s father, Francis Azenabor, said his son was arrested on November 1, 2024, at Mile 12 and reportedly taken to Ketu Police Station.<\/p>\n

According to him, an eyewitness allowed Osas to use his phone to call his wife shortly after the arrest.<\/p>\n

However, when his wife arrived at the station, officers allegedly told her that her husband was not there and advised her to check other stations, including Ogudu. Subsequent visits to several police divisions and correctional facilities, including Badagry and Kirikiri, reportedly yielded no information about his whereabouts.<\/p>\n

Francis claimed that the eyewitness later identified one of the officers involved in the arrest at Ketu Police Station.<\/p>\n

He alleged that despite reporting the matter to the Divisional Police Officer and other senior officers, no concrete action had been taken.<\/p>\n

He added that at one point, officers allegedly linked to the arrest were briefly detained on the orders of a superior officer but were later released.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy son has been missing for 15 months after his arrest. I need help from higher police authorities, including the Inspector-General of Police, and every Nigerian who can assist,\u201d Francis said, expressing anguish over how to explain the situation to his son\u2019s three children.<\/p>\n

Efforts to get a response from the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer and the Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, were unsuccessful as of press time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
