Settlement was completed on February 11.

Breakdown of the allotment showed that the 14.356 per cent FGN Savings Bond due February 2028 attracted N1.514 billion from 2,631 successful subscriptions. Meanwhile, the 15.356 per cent FGN Savings Bond due February 2029 recorded stronger demand, raising N4.398 billion from 2,195 investors.

The higher subscription level for the three-year tenor reflected investor preference for better yields, as it offered a higher coupon rate compared to the two-year bond.

Under the terms of the instruments, coupon payments will be made quarterly on May 11, August 11, November 11 and February 11 throughout the life of the bonds, providing investors with a steady income stream.

The FGN Savings Bond programme was introduced to deepen Nigeria’s domestic bond market and encourage wider retail participation in government securities. The bonds are backed by the full faith and credit of the Federal Government, making them a relatively low-risk investment option.

The DMO conducts monthly offers under the programme as part of the Federal Government’s broader domestic borrowing strategy to finance budget deficits and support fiscal operations.

<div
