A man known as Courage, popularly called \u201cDogo,\u201d was killed at <\/span>Eboh Quarters, Estate Gate, Irhirhi<\/strong> in Benin, Edo State, following a dispute over proceeds from park ticket sales.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Secretary of the Edo State Special Security Squad, John Izegaegbe, confirmed the incident in a statement issued via the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Monday Okpebholo.<\/p>\n

According to Izegaegbe, the victim was allegedly involved in illegal ticketing operations, and disagreements over sharing proceeds led to a conspiracy resulting in his death.<\/p>\n

Preliminary investigations revealed the use of a 9mm Beretta pistol, with cartridges recovered at the scene.<\/p>\n

The killing reportedly triggered a reprisal attack at Wire Road by individuals who mistakenly believed certain persons were responsible.<\/p>\n

Security operatives conducted extensive operations in Benin, recovering firearms, including a K2 Army magazine loaded with live ammunition in an abandoned vehicle, while suspects have been arrested to aid ongoing investigations.<\/p>\n

Authorities emphasized that the incident was not cult-related and reassured residents that law and order are being maintained.<\/p>\n

The Edo State government also confirmed ongoing efforts to rescue a police officer and other kidnapping victims abducted earlier in February.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
