The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has revealed that the party is aiming to register at least 14 million members nationwide as part of efforts to reposition itself ahead of the 2027 general elections.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a South-West stakeholders\u2019 meeting in Ibadan on Tuesday, the former Osun State governor said the party had begun an aggressive membership mobilisation drive to attract Nigerians seeking a credible political alternative.<\/p>\n
According to him, the ADC is focused on recruiting committed and credible members willing to work for national progress rather than engage in political rivalry.<\/p>\n
Aregbesola directed newly inaugurated South-West leaders to establish functional party structures across all states in the zone within two weeks, stressing the need for operational national, zonal and state frameworks.<\/p>\n
He also announced plans to launch a \u201cGrand Assembly of Genuine Progressives,\u201d which will comprise 100 leaders from each of the six South-West states, including youths and women representatives.<\/p>\n
