Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has appointed four officials to key positions in the state\u2019s power, road infrastructure, aviation and transportation sectors as his administration moves to strengthen service delivery.<\/strong><\/p>\n The appointments were announced in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti by the governor\u2019s Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n The development came hours after Oyebanji swore in Professor Habibat Adubiaro as Secretary to the State Government and Oyeniyi Adebayo as Chief of Staff.<\/p>\n The newly appointed officials are Philip Atere, Technical Adviser on Power Infrastructure; Tope Fatukasi, Technical Adviser on Road Infrastructure; retired Air Vice Marshal Sunday Makinde, Technical Adviser on Airport matters; and Tajudeen Alingbolu, Director-General of the Ekiti State Transport Agency.<\/p>\n According to Oyebode, the appointments take immediate effect and reflect the strategic importance of the respective sectors to the administration\u2019s development agenda.<\/p>\n Oyebanji Demands Improved Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony for the SSG and Chief of Staff, Oyebanji charged the two officials to bring their experience from his first term to bear on their new responsibilities.<\/p>\n The governor said his second-term administration would not accept anything less than excellent service delivery, urging the appointees to work diligently and deliver results without delay.<\/p>\n He noted that their reappointments came with greater responsibilities to both the government and the people of Ekiti State.<\/p>\n Oyebanji also warned them against complacency and overconfidence, stressing that his expectations would be higher because they were already familiar with the workings of the administration.<\/p>\n Describing Adubiaro and Adebayo as \u201csteady hands who had served creditably as foundation appointees since he assumed office four years ago,\u201d the governor said their reappointments reflected the need to reward effective service with greater responsibility.<\/p>\n \u201cThis reappointment is, therefore, proof that the reward for good work is more work. But I will be dishonest if I do not acknowledge that there are areas in need of improvement,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The governor further cautioned that he would be less tolerant of lapses in the second term, given the experience both officials had gained during their previous service.<\/p>\n \u201cYou, therefore, have no reason to grope around.
