The amount subsequently rose to $400,000 and then $525,000 before reaching the current $700,000 ceiling.

The progression represents a 250 per cent increase in the maximum annual allocation per association between 2021 and 2026.
The additional funding could help national federations expand grassroots football programmes, improve coaching education, develop young players and strengthen domestic competitions.

Associations could also use the resources to support women’s football, train referees, develop youth academies and improve football infrastructure, subject to CAF’s funding conditions and each federation’s priorities.

The increased allocation may also give national associations greater financial flexibility to plan development programmes over longer periods and reduce their reliance on irregular revenue sources, including government grants and short-term sponsorship arrangements.

<div class='heateor_sss_sharing_container heateor_sss_horizontal_sharing'
