Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has warned that he could walk away from the African Democratic Congress if the party\u2019s candidate selection process is hijacked by money politics or manipulated interests<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Speaking during an interview on Arise News on Monday, Obi said he would not remain silent if party tickets were handed to the highest bidders, insisting that transparency and fairness must define any credible political platform.<\/p>\n

According to him, \u201cwho people are today is more important than who they were yesterday,\u201d as he stressed that he could never be part of a system that rewards electoral malpractice.<\/p>\n

The former governor of Anambra State recalled that he left the Peoples Democratic Party before the 2023 presidential election because its primary election had become compromised.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn PDP, people were not playing by the rules; it was transactional, and I cannot be part of a transactional primary,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Obi added that if similar practices emerge within the ADC ahead of the 2027 elections, he would openly challenge them and reconsider his membership.<\/p>\n

He also spoke on his earlier exit from the All Progressives Grand Alliance, saying a breakdown in his relationship with his successor created a toxic atmosphere that affected governance.<\/p>\n

Obi further blamed the current administration for the circumstances that later pushed him out of the Labour Party, signalling that his political future remains tied to the search for what he describes as a principled and credible platform.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
