The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested an Abuja based house agent, Hajia Adama Ahmed Adamu, over an alleged N288 million property fraud<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The development was disclosed by the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the EFCC following a petition filed by a complainant who accused the suspect of fraudulent dealings.<\/p>\n

According to the Commission, the suspect allegedly collected the sum from one Alhaji Tanko Yawale under the pretext of facilitating the purchase of a property located at House 31 Haile Selassie Street, Asokoro Abuja.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, findings showed that after receiving the payment, the agent failed to provide valid ownership documents for the property, raising concerns over the legitimacy of the transaction.<\/p>\n

\u201cHajia Adamu allegedly failed to provide the complainant with valid documents for the property and subsequently became evasive, raising suspicion and prompting a formal petition to the EFCC,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

Following the petition, operatives of the Commission tracked and arrested the suspect in connection with the alleged fraud.<\/p>\n
