President Bola Tinubu has hinted that he may not personally attend campaign rallies in all 36 states as he seeks re-election in 2027.
The President disclosed this on Wednesday during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Tinubu told members of the council that they should not expect him to accompany them to every state during the campaign, citing financial obligations facing the country.
“You will excuse me from going everywhere with you. We have bills to pay. The American creditors cannot wait,” he said.
His remarks suggest that the President may limit his physical participation in some campaign activities as the ruling party prepares for the 2027 general election.
Tinubu’s comments come as political parties begin preparations for the election, with campaigns expected to involve nationwide engagements, rallies and mobilisation of supporters.
The President did not specify the states he might skip or explain how the campaign council would organise rallies in places he would not personally visit.
