A section of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) was on Monday morning gutted by fire in Abuja.
The cause of the incident could not be immediately confirmed, but sources suggested it might be linked to a power surge.
Fire fighters were at the scene battling to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the building as at the time of filling this story.
Officials of the Federal Fire Service were yet to speak on the development.
The dry season or summer period is notable for fire incidents in parts of Nigeria.
Recently, in Kano, Singer Market, a popular market place in the state and Northern Nigeria was gutted by fire twice within few days.
Similar incidents had occured in Lagos, Yobe state and others places in the past months.
